Best thing to do with store bought ones is to:
    A) Send them to someone you don't like
    B) Feed um to the neighbors barking dog and hope he don't get lose on your yard.
    C) You can bury them but the environmental impact paperworks a bi***.

My grandmother used to make them from scratch, some she served plain, other sprinkled Brandy over and put up in a tin for Christmas. Man those were great. Plain ones were too. Haven't eaten one since she died. I love to cook I just can't seem to get them right.

I can cook and when need be I can cook good normal food but I can't bake anything but biscuits and cornbread, everything else I burn:confused:
  4. After Xmas, left over fruitcakes make nice range targets (watch out for ricochets! ;)) and coyote fodder, and the the leftovers are biodegradable! :D

Seriously, I'm with you guys. I love fruitcake, but only the homemade kind, not the store bought ones. When I was a kid we used to make up fruitcake sometime in November and then coat them with brandy and let them sit until Xmas. They were mighty good.

I must confess, I too am a fruit cake lover! We had A&P stores here years ago and their Ann Page fruit cake was the best! My bother brought me a fancy fruit cake from England several years ago. I didn't like it.

I like the all American plain Jane fruit cake. It's got nuts, it's got fruit, it must be a health food :):)!

    Merry Fruit Cake Christmas:):):):)

There is only one fruit cake in the entire world. It just gets passed around so quickly that it seems like there are many.

  15. You know, Ron, I was just thinking . . . if you buy enough fruit cakes this year, you could add a nice brick wall to your new gun room after Xmas. It would be fireproof too! :D;):p
