Short rant - I drove by a guy today with a gas powered blower mounted on his back, blowing dust and leaves from a sidewalk in an industrial area just south of the airport in San Jose, California.

As I waited for the traffic light to change, I wondered, "Why?" Why waste time and gas to blow stuff a short distance, when Mother Nature would just blow it anywhere she wanted shortly afterward?

I could not come up with an answer. If he had a broom and dust pan, and collected the refuse for recycling, that would make sence. But just stirring it up, rearranging it for the wind? Seemed stupid to me, and I am probably paying for it in more than one way.

What do you think about gas blowers (my farts do not count)?
