hey guys. i have been putting alot of rounds through my new R1 since i bought it a few weeks ago. i was wondering, has anyone had an issue with the screws holding the grips on loosening up? i tightened them up and they will loosen back up after approx 30 rounds. any ideas? blue loctite?

All 1911s do it. Dont loctite them, the bushings will unscrew when you go to remove them next time. Just keep a screwdriver in your range bag and check them from time to time.

You can use red Loctite on the bushings and blue on the screws but it will take a little heat to make the red let go if you ever want to remove the bushings.

    Ditto to Hawg's (#3) response.

Could you simply paint over the threaded parts of the grip screws a couple coats so that it makes a little bit tighter fit into the bushings?

I have had this problem, I keep a small tool kit in my range bag for stuff like this, some say small o-rings under the screws will keep them from backing out, but I havnt tried it yet

The easiest way to correct this problem is to lightly paint the threads with clear fingernail polish. Install and allow to dry before shooting.

That would work swell. I use fingernail polish to anchor adjustable trigger screws, it would work great for this too.
