I recently added this very nice, original Handy Gun in .22rf, to my collection. Unfortunately, some previous owner evidently thought they'd improve their accuracy by replacing the rear sight with an aftermarket.

Though best known for the smoothbore version Handy Gun, according to what I can find out about those with rifled barrels, only 323 were made in .22rf. Mine's serial number is in the 200 group. They also made a 32-20 which is considered even more rare!

Does anyone out there have additional info on what the ORIGINAL rear sight would have looked like? I have a machinist who can make me a replacement IF he had some idea what the original looked like and how it operated.

There is a hole completely through the gun just below the sight. It's my understanding that was where the windage adjustment was made.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
