Hello everyone, this is my 1st post and I was wondering if anyone would be able to provide me with some information on a couple of H&R revolvers that belong to my mother-in-law. Any available information, including value, would be great. Thank you in advance!

The first is a H&R model 922, serial no.: N22633, caliber: .22 LR (?), appears to be nickel finish

The second is a H&R (not sure of the model), serial no.: 474708, caliber: 38 S&W, again it appears to be nickel finish, the grips are aftermarket Ruger

I'll put pictures up just as soon as I can figure out how to do it!

The first one is a "BANTAM" sub model of the 922; it is chambered for 9 rounds of .22 rimfire, short, long or long rifle. The 'N' prefix indicates production in 1953, which was the 2nd year this piece was offered. One problem, the 922 was factory blue finish - this one appears to have been polished and chrome plated. Value will vary by area of the country, but I'd say this one should sell in the $100 to $135 range.

The 2nd one is an H&R "Auto Ejecting" 3rd Model, probably a 4th Variation (from the serial number - made between circa 1916 and 1924, probably closer to 1920-21. It is chambered for the .38 S&W cartridge (not the .38 S&W SPECIAL). As you can see, the grip panelss are not original to the gun. Value in current condition will range between $95 and $125.

I'm sure Bill Goforth will be along shortly to give you the full run down on these two pieces.

Very cool! Thanks for the info and hopefully Mr. Goforth will add some more valuable insight. I saw some of his previous posts regarding H&R 922s - very informative!

about the only thing i can add about the model 922 is the finish may be original. the 1952 catalog lists the the model 923 (chrome finish) but a price list that goes with it list the model 923 as "Model 922 Deluxe". my thinking on this is it is marked 922 but has a chrome finish and was continued until H&R had a new roll stamp made up.

the auto-ejecting third model might be a little later production but i would need to see it without the ruger grips to know for sure.
