    hi , New member,and need some help. Have a H&R pistol AMERICAN stamped
    on barrel,32cal. 5shot. The hammer will not drop,does any one know where
    I can get some dissassembly diagrams and take down instructions. The pistol
    is in very good condition,can anyone help in this matter

    your revolver is most likely marked "young armerica" this is how the medium frame 5 shot 32 S&W caliber should be marked. the large frame 6 shot 32 S&W were marked "american double action". this model was manufactured by h&R between 1883 and 1942. there are two models first model 1883-1904 manufactured for black powder cartridges pressures and the second model 1905-1942 manufactured for smokeless powder cartridge pressures. the way to tell the difference in the two models is the barrel markings. second models will have company name and address marked on the left side of the barrel and the first model will not have any markings on the barrel.
