Would this item be a 32 SW long or short? Also gent sells as a private person without a FFL but ships to FFLor CR. Is that ok?

    Thomas,
With the cartridge stamp on the left side of the barrel, your PREMIER was made in 1905 or later, up to 1942. It will handle the .32 S&W (Short one) and most will also chamber the .32 S&W Long.
As to the legality of shipping, check your local and state laws. The gun in question is a C&R eligible item, as it is over 50 years since date of manufacture.
YOU must have a C&R to receive it, if legal in your state and locality.

I bought a similar HR 'automatic' 6" brl made in 1920s in 32 long and have a question. Where is the serial number on these?
And as the cylender is free turning it seems that the thing is meant to index on the fireing pin held in the primer of the just fired hole. Am I correct on that thot? Thank you.

    thomas,
If your piece was made in the 1920s - the serial number would be stamped into the butt strap. However - it will always be found under the top strap - remove cylinder to see this "primary" s/n location - and most times under the left grip panel on the bottom strut of the grip frame.
The ENTIRE run of "Auto Ejecting/Automatic" H&R revolvers have "free wheeling" cylinders. As you posted, H&R advised that the firing pin be nestled between cartridge rims on on a fired primer when carried.
Check out this "instruction manual" found inside a box from the 1880's:
