My twin boys were given a set of shotguns with Helice on them. Each has "Acier Special", "Acier De'surete", "Double Epreuve" and "Rectifie Faure" (maybe spelled "Regtifie") on the barrels of the guns which are hidden when the stock is attached. They were their grandfather's shotguns. They appear to be a 16 gauge. Do you have any information on these guns?

    Thanks for any help
  2. They were French built shotguns, Twins, and if I recall correctly, they were only built until around WWII. Generally, they are considered of quite good quality. A nice box lock can be worth $500-$1500, depending on such things as gauge, overall condition, and degree of embellishment. A side lock usually commands an even higher value.

    Hope this helps a little.
