    Wolfy77,

I read and re-read this thread and thought I'd add this just in case you are not familiar with the older Win 1894s.
The serial number was stamped on the rounded area just in front of the link at the bottom forward end of the receiver. If it is not there after cleaning the receiver with some steel wool and Hoppe's or Gun Scrubber then it's been removed.
If it's been removed, in certain situations the BATFE will issue the rifle a new serial number if it's not been used in a crime.

    Alpo,
Mea Culpa simple means; My fault.

    Joe

Wolfy sent me a PM, cursed us soundly, and asked to have his account closed.

    I granted his wish.

There are those who are so angry with the world, so rightest and full of them self, they will take offence at the slightest twitch. Some call them bully's, I just call them arrogant. I learned a long time ago not to take myself serious, I try and approach life with a crooked smile on my lips and a song ( usually a Hank Williams song ) in my heart ( but I still want to cut the deck ). Nothing could have been posted that would have made Wolfy satisfied. If we can't laugh a little at life, then it is a very sad existence.:p

Some people are just too full of themselves.

"Thanks for the welcome, now if you can provide an answer to the question posed in the title rather than stating the completely obvious it might be a more positive answer rather than seeming to speak in political/military obliqueness."

A text book example of how not to ask for help.

I do believe that it is close to the record. I have seen many contenders but not as quick as this "former guest".

    Agreed fellas.

I have been a TFF mod for almost a month now. The quickest to go are spammers, Heck, Jack nailed one one day in like 10 minutes from the time he posted his spam to the time shooter45 got the message and poofed him.

We got a good team fellas. And were all damn determined to keep TFF the best damn firearms forum on the web.

But this one was fast for a normal member, one of the fastest I am aware of.

    Jim,
I believe that the "true refuge of a scoundrel is no longer patriotism, but the anonymity of the internet".

I'm going to venture a guess and say he was from the east? At least originally.
No offense intended to the polite easterners....all three of you.;)

I saw that. He was very abrasive from the start.

Bugs may go unsquashed for a time here on TFF, but I assure they do not go un-noticed. Sometimes we gotta just watch what they do first..

We provide a FREE service....No charge. The members here give their time FREELY........did you catch that FREE part again. They sometimes get a thank you and often times not. But, they do it again FREE. There's that word again.

When we get a post like this one with ALL the information ?????? It doesn't deserve an answer.

But, I'll make an exception in your case Wolfy. You can get the answer, but it isn't FREE anymore. When we get the payment, you get the answer.

Now, take your attitude elsewhere as you are no longer welcome here.

    That was FREE.

    Contact him if you want.

I also have access to his name, address and phone # if anyone wants it. FREE !!
