I am not saying this is a good idea just an idea. something to think about and talk about. I hear all the time that 40% of the working force does not pay taxes. They dont make enough. Earned income credit and all that. What if only the people who make enough and have to pay taxes for 3 years get the option to vote for officials. That way our public leaders would have an interest in having people make money. Just a thought, go ahead and tear it up.

    nice idea

but then you'd get a situation where the rich could vote themselves out of the taxation scheme totally via lobbyists and the working middle class (you folks) would wear a even greater percentage of the tax burden for your nation

    keep on thinking though

how about a 10% flat rate of tax for everyone , even social security folks

those making millions would not be exempt

    no exemptions for anyone

except non resident alien workers 15% for them

you'd have a level playing feild for all and enough money in the treasury for all thats needed

    business

a flat 10% for agricultural folks and service industries and medical folks

    12.5% for industial manufacturers

15% for no production folks ( middle men , finacial industry etc those who dont make or produce a product, walmarts etc)

    20% for politicians, lawyers

    NO exceptions

    and shoot all lobbyists

jacks 2 cents ( 1.3 US cents due to the value of the south pacific peso )

Americans get representation regardless of taxation. It's frustrating to see the 'equal' representation with such lopsided taxation.

I was working on my taxes today and got frustrated over credits for having kids. I have a family of four. Why do I pay less taxes than the guy that makes the same amount of money as I do, but is single without kids(family of one)? I use more 'government' than he does. I should pay more taxes than him, but he pays twice as much as I do. I don't get it. You should get a tax break for NOT having kids.

when i did the work for DHS

know how much tax i paid ??

    NONE!!!

why?? some lobbyist had got a deal for someone previously and i fitted in that class. ( hence shooting lobbyists)

i'd be happy to pay 15%

it was tax payers money paying me .. why not pay back ???
i did not contribute to your roads but drove on them
did not contribute to infrastructure but used it
did not contribute to anything finacially besides airport tax in my tickets
and some tax i did not understand in california on purchases

to cover my usage of your outlay , but no someone had a deal to dodge paying a fare share and thats how it went

NON Resident Alien ( me working in the USA ) pays 0 tax

    that was'nt fair

so i sent 10% to Disabled Veterans of America and some to project boresnake ( stuff for your troops )

call it a tithe if you wish

here we call it "a fair go at paying my way"

no such thing as a free lunch

but with lobbyists theres too many free lunches paid for by the working folks as everyone else can dodge the bill

    fairs fair eh

Thanks but i cant take credit

The Good Book is the basis of all thats above ( killing philistines = shooting lobbyists)

but tarted up for modern days as business's dont make the roads they use to transport thier goods nowdays and they do pollute a bit more and need a bit more state based infrastructure so pay a bit more but dont bleed em as they create jobs

and a scale based on work ( finacials pay more they dont produce but play with the results of others work)

poli's and lawyers pay more but did so back when the Good Book was Written too ( to stop them wanting to be just these things)

    nothing new here

i read somewhere you have 34,000 exceptions for companies and the rich from taxes

but only 85 for working folks

how about none and a lower across the board rate for all

then no-one would dodge thier share and the system would work again

    as The Good Lord intended

    cheers

Heinlein's idea, you can't vote unless your a vet. If you aren't willing to fight for your country, you don't deserve to have a say in how it's run.

Um, if we'd just stay out of other people's business, we might not have to go to war so much.

We've been at war since the middle of the last century. That's absurd.

Read the founders - their recommendation was to STAY OUT of foreign entanglements, for just this reason.

true , so you stay out , then what?

Vietnam Cambodia Loas and the tinpot african wars that where not advertised to the public , what good did they do?

    short term

    bugger all

    long term?

made the communist block think hard

pushed them to spend what little cash they had and in turn made them sell thier souls for more hard cash,

this brought on rebelion in the warsaw pact group and made em crack down even harder causeing even further rebelion

its bankrupted them when they tryed to expand in another direction (Afghanistan)

so you actually removed the biggest threat you have faced ever ( total annihalation via neuclear attack)

admitadly these all could have been avoided too

old ho chi min did write 17 letters to the US asking for help that went unanswered

so he wrote one to Krushev who turned three freighters around mid course and sent em to Hiphong then sent a heap of induction specialists to train em all to be good commies

and without US help saddam would have been knocked off by his own years ago and as for the taliban

but can anyone read the future???

sure you could have hid all this time

but if you had what then??

you know how close you came to getting mexico communist??

if the soviets did not go broke via all these small actions ( sorry to the vets but its a scale thing)

where would they have invested ??

    Africa? che was there remember

    south america?

    they had feelers there too

    mexico?

the UK?? ( that was real close remember)

europe? greece did go communist in a limited way and so did france at one point , remember?

yeah you could have stayed out

but it was a good bet by 2050 you'd be the only free nation in the planet with everyone else against you and they'd be communist and most unfriendly
or it would have gone neuclear in europe and spread

the latest ones (9/11) would you want to just shrug that off??

heck if so i may still have 100% fitness and my best mate , Andy, KIA Afghanistan
but folks, NOT to act when faced with that would be just as wrong as what they ( taliban/al queda) did
it would be a betrayal off all you and we here stand for
yes its cost but out of all of them only Iraq was dumb, and you dont want to know my thoughts on that one, but the rest if you had not acted , you'd be a smoking hole in the ground or on your own facing that and broke and cut off

    whats better??

    think about it

    besides you cant change history

but you had better learn from it

    cheers

    jack
