Clausewitz twice used "ceteris paribus" in about a page and a half in the last chapter....
So at the risk that my "military genius" (I'm in that chapter, as you could guess )will somehow be compromised what does it mean?
It's NICE to have my own personal Latin tutor actually...where were you when I was taking all those "Pre-Law" courses????
And you are right, "High German" translated into "High English" by some Brit Historian takes some time to read AND comprehend...And I thought Thomas Aquinas was rough!
I'll probably be at this one book as long as it took me to read all 15 volumes of Morison....
In college I tried to join a fraternity, but I didn't hit the quota during initiation to qualify, got sidetracked after only one or two, so I never got to be an official member of I Phelta Thi....
But speaking of "Family Crests," we got solicited once to have our "Family Crest" and "motto" get researched for like three easy payments of $19.99, and my Father said something like, yeah right, like Polish Peasant turnip farmers would have a CREST and a motto in LATIN....
Sto Lat!
But I DO kinda like that "VISRRRMEA," we oughta make that like our "secret handshake" or password for the "TFF HistoryNuts...."

This, of course, is false. The Church has never taught any such thing in its 2000 years of existence. Nevertheless, I found your "faith and works" motto irresistable, and just had to throw in a cheeky comment.
Happy Thanksgiving.
