    Thanks, Marlin...

Actually I took the day off and so did my wife...and we are getting ready to go golfing...her FIRST time on a "real" course...

The kids and I have been taking her to a bunch of different par 3s over the past year and a half, since we got her new cubs, but she always said she "wasn't ready..."

Two weekends ago she was bitching at the slow golfers ahead of us on a par three ("Maybe if old Junior with the Mullet wouldn't throw his #$#$@ club on the ground after every shot we'd get to play TOO!" was one of her BEST....:p ")

    I figgered she was ready.....

Even IF I still get the occasional...."Hon, should I use my 3 wood or my 7 iron for this shot?:) " Kinda like "should I use my .300 mag or my .222 for this shot?:p "

I figure if I don't let her drive the cart, maybe other golfers will only be in danger from my "Big Bertha Bender...."

  4. Happy birthday, ya old reprobate! :)

    Another candle in your cake?
Well, that's no cause to pout,
Be glad that you have strength enough
To blow the damn thing out.

Now Polish, y'all be especially careful on that 19th hole, hear? :D

Don't worry PS, no 19th hole for ME!

When I got a new set of clubs last year I bought a bag with a "higher capacity..." (NOT for clubs either:cool: ) AND a built in cooler!:p

The only thing is the State is starting to enforce the "No alcohol brought in not bought on premises" rule more, so I feel like an 18 year old in a "21" state again....:p

    Happy Birthday Polish.

Be sure to bring one of those "Rooshin Rifles" with ya. When you start pickin' off other golfers balls (golf, of course) at 200 yards, they'll let ya play thru. :D

  11. That would get their attention, X, but Polish would be much more likely to hit them with a Mauser. :D

I ALMOST bought one of those "Golf Ball" launchers for my Yugo SKS, I wonder if I could SHOOT it straighter than with the Big Bertha...gives a WHOLE new meaning to "Mind if I play through?":p :p :p

But HEY, I broke 100 for the FIRST time in my life today, with only 2 "gimmee" putts....:p

My wife is now hooked on "Real" courses, now that she shot a tour grade 136 for 18...

Already asking "Where are we going to play tomorrow?":p

You know, golf is a LOT like shooting, something like "Sporting Clays" with a LOW velocity smoothbore....different weapons for different velocity and trajectory, lots of "Nice Shot!" followed by "What the heck kind of a shot did you call THAT?" Lots of High Velocity flat shooting tracer rounds followed by mortar shots.... SOMETIMES when you planned it that way....:)

Lots of concentration, judging the wind, hoping some other guy DOESN'T see your target...er, SCORE Sheet....

Accuracy and consistency is what you are after, but what you actually get is a lot of ADs and wild misses:p

And ALWAYS somewhere in a round wishing you had a "Brush gun" that could punch through all that vegetation....

Looking around for your ball almost as diligently as you look for the GOOD brass your .45 chucked all over the landscape...

But the GOOD thing is you can drink beer while you are doing it and a dangerous shot you'd NEVER take with a gun is USUALLY OK as long as you yell...FORE!!!! (Which of course means EVERY golfer within earshot either covers their head or their genitals EXCEPT the one you almost beaned....;) )
