Received a beautiful High Standard HD Military pistol as a gift from my best friend's estate recently. It shoots incredibly well... but I don't know much abou the gun. I have learned some from the posts here... thank you... but wondering if anyone would have more info... when it was made... possible worth... isn't in original box or anything... serial number is #240xxx. Thanks.
Lack of a complete serial number precludes an accurate ship date. The partial serial number suggests March of 1948.
Valuing a gun sight unseen is sheer folly. Originality, condition, and demand vs availability are the keys to values. This is a model with high production numbers. The condition and originality will be the value drivers in this case.
