What should I keep at the homestead as "self defense ammo" for a .357 revolver? Thanks

Probably Federal Hydrashoks are as good as anything......but, be aware that a .357 is a highly penetrating round and may go thru walls and injure innocent parties.

You might be better off with a shotgun for home defense.

00 buck from a .12 gauge would be my first choice. :)

For my handguns though, I'm currently using Gold Dots. I am interested in getting some Buffalo Bore 125 gr. JHC though.

125 gr. JHC @ 1700 fps for 802 ft lbs

The test revolver was a Ruger GP-100 with the 6" barrel.

For .357 mag I like 158gr or heavier. No hot loads, just plain old hollow points.

i had read that the 125gr are more likely to transfer their energy within the target as opposed the 158s

is there any truth in this?

What about Glasers or Mag-Safes? Are they still around?

How about trying .357 ammo? Sorry, I couldn't help myself. ;)

Try Corbon Powr'Ball in .357. It rocks!
