Anybody here use it??? There are thousands of recipes out there but the one i find i like the most is Harlows magic bullet lube formula...

    1# refined beeswax
    1# Vaseline
    1# Paraffin wax
    1 tbsp. STP oil treatment
    2 crayons for color

You can make up a batch and either make sticks for a lubesizer or pan lube with silicone baking dishes like I do. I prefer the pan lube method because I can use the cheap LEE lube and size dies;)

It works well with pistol bullets from .356 to .475 (in my experience) running 750 to 1500 fps. Works as well as LBT blue for me.

I read about using Johnson's furniture polish. I am trying out a recipe with parafin wax and mineral oil. I make it soft enough to apply with my finger or tumble lube as I do not have a lubersizer.

I would like to know more about the pan lube method if anyone is willing to describe it in detail. Thanks.

ETA; I found a informative video on pan lubing here; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBDFO0ftCQc#noexternalembed

been tweakin the harlows lube recipe and have come to just about the closest thing to SPG as i can get... (even smells the same)... Heres my adjusted recipe: 1lb. of beeswax, 1lb. of paraffin wax, 13 ozs. of 100% petroleum jelly (vaseline), 1/4 cup of STP oil treatment (next batch ill try Lucas oil stabilizer), and 6 jumbo crayons for color. I made a batch of purple:) Also if you preheat your boolits in the oven at 175 while you get your lube up to temp the grease grooves will fill out completely. I got some test rounds loaded and sized to .452 and gonna test for group and leading with a proven load using SPG. will post results:)

tested the lube today using the same load I developed with spg. Performance was idntical accuracy wise, I got a little more velocity than with spg and after about 15 shots the muzzle end of my 1911 was pretty oily (prolly from the STP) but the bore stayed clean and lead free:) Here are a couple groups fired offhand at 25 yards.

Cool pics, JLA. Cast bullets out of a 1911 is a beautiful thing.

Nah. Had a holstein steer that got tangled up in a roll of barbed wire a couple years ago, he thrashed and thrashed til he had broken both front legs. so I capped him between the eyes with a 1911 and hauled him to the meat house. Good eatn, thats about all holstein bulls and steers are good for;)
