I recently got a bullet hammer and I took apart a hornady critical defense round. Its 185 grain hollow point 45acp.I weighed the powder and at my suprise it weighed 6.6 grains. My Hodgdon powder jar says 185 sjwc should be 5.5.It doesnt show a number for 185 jhp.Is 6.6 sound right to you guys?

Powder used in factory loads is not the same powder sold to reloaders for the most part.

    Hodgdon lists
    Universal 6.4 gr
    AutoComp 6.7gr
    WSF 6.8gr
    SR 7625 6.8gr

So those are kind of close.

6.6 gr under a 185 in .45 ACP sounds about like W231 to me. and thats a nice stiff load of it.
