Just wondered if Herman Cain being black will hurt his chances for President? He seems to have his head screwed on straight, but I fear after Obamas poor showing and inability to govern, people may automatically eliminate Mr. Cain? With consideration given to our memberships open mindedness and desire for a common sense straight shooter I'm interested in what you all have to say.

He just won that Republican thing in FL. I think he would make a whole lot better President than Obozo!

I'm sure some people voted against Obama just because he was black, just as I'm sure that some people voted for Obama just because he was black. I kinda suspect that these two groups cancelled each other out.

If Cain ran against Obama, the first group might not vote at all, and the second group might be split between Cain and Obama.... net result, it might not have any significant effect at all.

For some folks he appears black. I see him as red, white, and blue. Godfathers and several other businesses think he is green (as in the color of money, not BS environmental crap).

Certainly he is a hard working man with a strong moral compass and plenty of old fashioned common sense. I would be proud to call him Mr. President.

I've been watching Herman Cain since he got into the race. I like him. He's a no nonsense guy and not a career politician. He understands the economy and best of all, he's actually worked for a paycheck.

Fifteen years ago he was chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank in Kansas City.... then suddenly he decided to go into politics.

Do you suppose he had one of those "Aha" moments and realized that he had been violating the Constitution and contributing to our country's financial ruin?

    It's possible, I guess.

I think he has more to offer than Perry or Romney .... I don't, normally, see color , just
    character .
I'd like to see him run with Newt as V.P. and there is a great cabinet available .... just
look at the stage during the debates.

Not really "all of a sudden". He was CEO of Godfathers Pizza. Quite a successful businessman on a National level. Extensive experience in operating a huge corporation.

He is a no nonsense kinda guy that has something to say when called upon and doesnt spend his time childishly attacking anyone else. That whole perry and romney thing needs to go away. They act like two grade school kids fighting over their lunchbox on the playground.

We all know that this Country is in great peril, and Cain is, so far, the only Candidate that has published a plan to get us on the road to recovery. Make no mistake, his 999 plan will increase our taxes, but how else can we start to pay down our debt?

Well carver, we can start by stopping the trillions of wasted pork barrel projects and cut all these entitlements and put 500 thousand troops on the border or how ever many it takes to seal them up and then enforce the laws on the books. Stop the flow of illegals and stop giving them aid! Cut off all of this bogus aid to these people over seas who hate us anyhow and drill baby drill. Get the resources out of the ground and lets quit buying our oil elsewhere. We can stop borrowing money and pay down our debt if we just take those few steps I just outlined.

I believe in a flat tax and I believe we need to abolish the IRS and the EPA and several other gov orgs that are nothing more that money pits. See, I believe Sarah Pailin would clean house in DC if we would give her the chance. Its time to put an end to the lavish parties, the jet rides everywhere and the raises whenever they want. Its time for term limits. Its time for the people to evaluate each and every position every 3 yrs to determine whether or not its been productive or not.

There are many, many ways to cut spending and balance the budget and pay down the debt. Someone has to actually DO IT.

President Obama was never more than a sidewalk community oorganizer who can make a good speech. As he explained to Joe the plumber he intends to redistribute the wealth. EXCEPT the Billions held by he and all the liberals. A closed mind with power is a very dangerous thing.
Herman Cain is an intelligent man who knows how our economy works and how to correct our problems. He'll need a supportive House and Senate. In my opinion many of our long time republican politicians have no intestinal fortitude to oppose the socialist media and far left politicians.
Someone has an excellent idea, having all those candidates as President V.P, and Cabinet. That's a lot of experience and talent.

According to his bio, Cain was the Godfathers CEO at the same time he was chairman of the KC Fed Bank..... then in 1996, he resigned from both positions and became involved with politics -

In a leveraged buyout in 1988, Cain, Executive Vice-President and COO Ronald B. Gartlan and a group of investors bought Godfather's from Pillsbury. Cain continued as CEO until 1996, when he was asked to resign by the board. Later that year he became CEO of the National Restaurant Association – a trade group and lobby organization for the restaurant industry – where he had previously been chairman concurrently with his role at Godfather's.[10]

Cain became a member of the board of directors to the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City in 1992 and served as its chairman from January 1995 to August 1996, when he resigned to become active in national politics.[11] Cain was a 1996 recipient of the Horatio Alger Award.[12]

I get the impression that 1996 was a pivotal year in his life.

According to Bloomberg's Business News his time at Godfathers has not been all that successful. It was said he was less than truthful about profits and growth and when he was asked to leave the pizza chain was no better off than they were before him.And even today they are behind in the pizza wars. Better look at this closely. If pizza business experience was so important I would think we would want Papa John for prez.

I don't have a problem with him being black. I don't dislike obama because he is black, I dislike him because he is destroying the country. That said, I don't think Cain has a chance because he is not a smooth politician.
