its a simple question,,,,,how many rounds of ammunition have you personally gone thru this year? i know that it might be hard for some to figure but including everything its really not all that hard to figure out. now dont feel like you need to impress the fine folks here online with some kind of rediculous figure as it really isnt what i was looking for. i know that a decent estimate is gonna be the best i will get,,,,there might only be a couple folks who actually keep count. if you want you can separate rimfire and shotgun and centerfire and pistol,,,i can add them up,,,,,yes i am writeing a book
About 2000. Mostly rimfire as I'm tired of reloading the other stuff. Down a lot from previous years since decent target grade 22lr is hard to get and more expensive.
I'm around 8,000. My son has shot through close to 5,000. That is in 9mm and .22lr mainly followed by .45, .38 and .44 for pistols. Rifles main usage is .223 with a couple hundred .30-06/.308 thrown in.
A quick estimate i'd have to say around 3k centerfire pistol (factory and reloads,.45, .380, 9mm, 40S&W), maybe 800 22LR (can't find anymore at decent prices ) and maybe pushing 600 12 GA.
I have never kept any kind of account on the number of rounds I fire. I can only guess and give an approximate number. I have gone to the range 16 times this year according to the calendar and I usually go through 100 to 200 rounds. That always includes some rim fire and then a mix of different center fire handgun calibers. I shoot no center fire rifle any more. So let's say some where around 3000 rounds so far this year.
Well, before starting to reload, approx 1200 .223 and 200 .40 S&W
After reloading started, factory and reloads combined, approx 500 .233, 100 .40 S&W, 90 44 special and 350 45acp
The only rounds I've kept track of is for my 1911 which is just over 600. But from most to least by caliber:
45 ACP (2 pistols)
9mm (2 pistols)
40 S&W
38 spcl
22 LR (pistol)
.223 (AR)
380 Auto
22 LR (rifle)
357 (can't find brass so I don't have much to shoot)
270 Win
I have some .357 brass laying around, if you will PM your address to me, I will be glad to send you some. It may not be a whole lot but it would give you some to reload and shoot.
About 30,000 more or less. We took my 1919A4 full auto out two weeks ago and ran two cases of .30-06 through it. That was 1600 rounds in an afternoon. Same with the M14, almost a full case of 920 there so about 2500 rounds that afternoon. I do this at least twice a month and sometimes shoot more. Plus the other rifle and pistol I shoot.
Couldn't give you a decent estimate. My range is on my property, so I just step out and shoot when I want to. Deer season for bow is open now, so I'm not doing any shooting in consideration of my hunting neighbors, until after deer season. If I had to guess, maybe 2,000 rounds of .44, and .45, and probably about the same for .22, and 7.62X39. A few .38's, some .380, and 12 gauge shot shells.
Too many! I buy the ammo when I bring newbies to the range, and burn up a lot of my stash. But it is worth it, as they cannot help but convert to the gun mindset. Last guy I brought just purchased his first ( his words, not mine! ) of many pistols, a Ruger 9mm. His girlfriend wants an Airweight revolver.
I've got empty bullet boxes to account for 5K and only started reloading in may so I'd say between my son and I we are close to 10 K with all the rimfire and stuff we bought probably even more
.44 Mag - 100
22LR - 200 (don't want to dig too far into the old stash till I can replace some)
7mm Rem Mag - 8
12ga - 100
.380ACP - 50
.223 Rem - approx 3,500
7.62x39 - 340
