Has anyone here ever been shot? I have.

    Just wondering about your experiences.

    Thanks

I've never been shot, but back in the early '80s I had a pistol pointed at me, it was a very un-nerving experience to say the least.

    No.

Shot at once, but I was never sure if it was intentional or if someone was just being irresponsible and we happened to be in the background. Bullets were hitting nearby, and we didn't stick around to find out.

I would guess that your story was while on duty. Is that the case?

Same with me. Was on a "drive" for deer in PA years ago and I was on the watch end of the drive. Everyone know well where everyone else will be but that did not stop on A-hole from firing when they knew they were close to the watch. Bullets hitting on the hill a few feet below me but thankfully no hits.

Needless to say I have never participated in a "drive" again. I tend to hunt mostly on private property of some people I know.

In my younger days as a paramedic we wound up driving through the cross fire of a pimp "protecting" his interests. Never been more scared in my life! Fortunately, he missed everyone (or we would've been called back to clean up his mess)!

Never been hit by a bullet, but I've had the discomfort of hearing thenm 'whiz' past my ears. Very unforgettable sound.

I have been hit in the chest by a roman candle that backfired tho. Not fun at all. :(

I'm not sure which I have more for you fellows, admiration or confusion. Not trying to prod, but if I was shot and lived to tell, I think I might be rather inclined to tell. :)

But on the other hand, I can understand not wanting to relive the circumstances.

    1) Dumb ass at the range. I gess its safe it's ben over 7 years, statue of limitations has run out. like I said dumb ass at the range, he still dosent know who broke the stock over the bench. I was gone when he came too. i think my tattoo geting screwed up pissed me off the most.
    2) was from an arrow. they where bow fishing the line snaged it flew back lodged in my leg. notch first, thank god. that one was equipment malfunction. the first was plan carlessness, and stupidity, on his part.

If I was to go over all the **** in my life thats happend. one, everyone would expect me to be dead. and two they would say bs.

I've seen people shot and been caught in the middle of a crossfire. (The bullets were flying by so close that my hair actually was singed from the heat.) I've also be involved in a couple of situations that could have gone bad fast. But, I've never been shot.

The closest thing to being shot happened when I was a kid. My cousin & I were rabbit hunting with a 22lr. I allowed him to rest the barrel on my shoulder for a better shot. Unfortunately, we didn't know what we were doing and he actually fired with the "muzzle" resting on my shoulder. I ended up with a grazing wound & burns on my neck.

Yes, Point blank and more damage done by powder burning than bullet. Did not hurt a bit (body in shock, I guess) untill about 30 minutes later at the ER and then it hurt like heck. Would definetly recommend avoiding it.
