Does anyone know where I can buy a bolt for a Stevens Model 15 single shot rifle made in the 1950's? According to my gun collector book, it was also sold as a Stevens-Springfield Model 15 and also a Savage Model 15. The original bolt is missing from the rifle. Thanks for any information. Gary

You'll not only need the bolt body & handle, you'll also need the cocking piece, rebound collar, mainspring retaining washer, striker, mainspring, & firing pin.

You can get them here: http://www.e-gunparts.com/productschem.asp?chrMasterModel=089Zz15

It's a nice little gun....it was my first rifle and I still have it (a Christmas present in 1948). But, unfortunately, by the time you've added up the prices of all those parts, they've probably exceeded the value of the gun.

Thanks for the info guys. So Xracer ,I looked up the website and at the bolt and parts and I take it that the bolt is sold without those parts incuded. That would make it more costly than the rifle is worth as you say. What website sells used old guns like these that are fun to own and not really collector's items ? My brother bought this model 15 in the 50's and we used to use it for squirrel and plinking and it is more of a nostalgia item to me. Anyway thanks again and stay by the fireside tonight for sure. The cold wind is blowing off good old Lake Erie here tonight. Gary

-12 here this morning Gary. And, yeah, I know about the winter wind off "The Lakes".....I went to school in Rochester, NY.....and was a cop there for a while.

And yeah, I know about "Nostalgia Guns", too....my Mom & Dad (with some misgivings) gave me my little Springfield 15 for Christmas when I was 13 years old. It was my first rifle, I still have it, and wouldn't sell it for a million bucks.

Since you don't seem to need this thing in a hurry, I'd suggest that you look around and try to find a used one.

.....here's a Model 15 bolt on Ebarf....but looks like the time is running out.

If you don't need the thing right away, just keep checking back on there under "Sporting Goods - Hunting - Gun Parts" and type in "Bolt".

Another possibility is to search in "Other Rifle Parts" on the GunBroker Auction site:

    http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Se...Type=1&Keywords=Bolt&Cat=3039&Page=1&Items=50

    ....and Gun Parts on AuctionArms:

    http://www.auctionarms.com/search/auctions.aspx?ab=30

Have patience.....sooner or later one will show up.

    Xracer,

Thanks for all the information on the bolt. I think I will take your advice and be patient and look around. Taking about nostalgia, I have my first shotgun, a Stevens single shot 16 gauge that I bought when I was 12 for 5 bucks. It was made in the 30's, I think. I used it for small game almost every year. Thanks again. Gary

Just curious Xracer, did you used to race cars?

Yeah Gary.....used to race sports cars in the '60's and early '70's.

BTW.....I believe that the Model 15 was also sold as the Savage/Fox/Springfield/Stevens Model 120.....so you can look for a bolt for the 120 and it should work on your Model 15.

I'd still have some patience and see if one comes up on Ebay..

The last two I bought, a couple of years ago, came from Numrich/ gun parts Corp/ whatever theiir name is now, in NJ.
Cheap enough, at less than $15, then, in stock, and fit; good to v,good, condition.
