It's SB 1195. I had a link to the wording but lost it. Actually it's an assault rifle ban preventing posession, sale or manufacture of any gun with large capacity mags, specific assault rifle listing, or ANY gun of 50 caliber or larger. This is where the dummies accidentally(?) drew in shotguns, since only 410 and 28 (?) gauge are smaller than .50.
Mayor Daley of Chicago is the chief gun grabber behind it with the help of enchmen/buttboys new governor Rod Blagoyavich (sp?) and Senate leader Emil Jones. This is one of many nasty, self serving (especially for communists and dictators) laws these misled or evil men have proposed. This would be a very bad precedent for the rest of the country.

The above link shows the less unreasonble wording Daley and his cronies want everyone to see but doesn't begin to explain what the law is really about. They alsways word this stuff to make it look like it's to protect the soccer moms and little kids out there, while it really only disarms the law abiding gun owners, leaving us at the mercy of criminals.

The real bill would get a person caught with an M1 carbine and a couple of extra WWII mags a 30 year sentance, with an additional 7 years if he has an oiler!! This is incredible, but true according to NRA affiliate IRSA from what I've read. Probably there next proposed ban will make a toilet plunger an assault weapon!! These people need to be living or ruling under an understanding leader, one like Saddam, Adolph or good old Joe Stalin!! OK, where's my soap box??

Just looked again at the link. If you click on full text you can read what it really means. The A??holes included "any firearm having a caliber of 50 or greater" in the long, inaccurate definition of an assault weapon, which virtually would outlaw most shotguns.

1 AN ACT in relation to criminal law.

I just looked at all of this and will make the appropriate calls. You see...I AM from Illinois! The election of Blagojevich and friends was our worst nightmare come true. Sadly, we have our Republican (?) ex-governor George Ryan to thank for this. That crooked b**tard did more damage to the Republican party in IL than 100 Democrats.

Us conservative folk in downstate Illinois are going to have a long four years.

Actually we can also use muzzle loading rifles of .45 caliber or larger (which is my preference) and we have a seperate pistol season for deer in some counties.
