This pistol is built by Shooter Arms Manufacters (S.A.M.) in the Philippines, and is imported by American Tactical Imports (ATI). I have a custom 1911 built on a SAM frame and slide. They make good stuff
The Fatboy Lightweight is a compact, high capacity 1911 with an alloy frame.
I'm really liking this pistol. It is nice and light for comfortable carry. It gives you 12 rounds of .45 ACP in its double stack magazine, but it is paper thin grip panels, so the grip isn't much thicker than a conventional 1911.
Oh I like that! I'm currently looking for a smallish barreled (3 inches) 1911 for carry. The 12 rounds of .45 is very apealing to me. Before seeing this i've been thinking about staying with the 9mm version of a 1911.
How's the feeding of a .45 do in a 3 inch 1911, any problems? Thanks for posting this.

I have a few 3" 1911s, one of them being the colt defender. Probably one of the best carry pistols ever made in my opinion. Very accurate, great weight and highly dependable.

Double D and ka64, that's the pistol that has stole my heart, the Colt Defender. I looked at one a week ago or so and was set on it pretty much, 9mm of course.
Just got to save some more Benjamin's. My LGS has them listed for $1066.00. Which didn't seem out of line from what i've seen on the net.
