Instructions for Adding Pictures

Pictures are important for getting an accurate value on any firearm.

Here's How:
The easiest format to work with for posting is jpg. You will need to use the software that came with your digital camera to transfer the pictures to the hard drive of your computer. Once it's on your computer, you may need to resize the picture so that it won't be so huge.

1. Make sure that the picture is about one megabyte in size, which is small enough to upload and large enough to see.

2. Below the box in which you type your post, on the right side, you will see three small boxes. Select the middle one "upload a File"

3. When the "upload box" pops up, select the picture you want to upload by double clicking on it. The picture will appear on the left below the post box.

4. Below the picture, select the way you want the picture to appear in your post. Select either Thumbnail or Full Image.

5. When you have finished selecting the pictures you want, click on Post Reply.

You are only allowed to post 10 pictures in each post. If you have more that 10 pictures, you will just drop down and make another post with 10 more, and so on.

To post from an iPhone use the following instructions. Android should be similar:

1. Go to bottom of where you are typing your post.

2. Select "Upload a File" Three choices show up.

3. You can select "take a picture" / "Photo library" / "browse"

4. At the bottom of the picture you either just took or selected, select "Use Photo"

5. Choose whether you want a Thumbnail or Full Image

6. Then choose Post Reply and the picture shows up!

Here is a little instructional "video" that might help (Thanks Broot)

Another way to post pictures is to link to a picture already online. Often, your ISP will provide you with web space where you can store pictures. You can also open an account with a picture hosting site. After you have uploaded your pictures to your site, you will use the img tags to display the image in your post. To do so, click the Insert Image button while you are composing a post (it's the button that looks like a picture-postcard) and type (or copy/paste) the complete URL of the image you want to display. Or you can type the URL in body of your post and put [img*] in front of the URL and [/img*] behind it. (Leave out the asterisks when you do this; I only included them here to force the img tags to show.) When you complete your post, the image will be displayed.

One issue to be aware of when linking to images online: Some sites (Angelfire is one that comes to mind) do not allow you to link directly to an image stored on a personal web space on their server. It's called "remote loading" and it will usually be mentioned in their TOS (terms of service) if it is not allowed.

In order to help us help you, please add clear pictures.

If you are unwilling to add pictures and since we can't see what you want
appraised, just figure your firearm worth about $5 -$10. We can't add a value to what we can't see.

Start your post as normal and then click on the insert image icon.

It will pop up telling you to drag an image there or click. If you drag and drop it, you will see it show up in your post. If you click, it will allow you to navigate to where it is on your computer.

Then just click the image so it adds the file name for you, then click on open.

Finish adding any content and then simply post your reply.
