Good morning joncutt87.Nice gun! The ithaca m49 was made 1961-79 It looks like the standerd 49 saddlegun. it's worth is 100%-$145down to 60%-$40 yours looks to be in good condition around 70-80% maybe up to 90% so it is worth around $65-$100. Did it have a gold trigger and hammer? It didn't look like it but the gold wears off pretty easy. Are you looking to sell it? if you are I am interested I collect them (all ithacas) pm me I will give you a above % price and pay for shiping..........GOOFYIf it has the gold then it is worth aprox. double the prices I gave you. Is there a P in or after(the ser. #) or on the recever? How is the barrel(rifeling)? Is the action tite?
You know it!I had one when i was young i shot it so much it just plain wore out. Those guns are great shooters and i'm looking for one for my grand daughter. She is useing a single shot and i would like to see her useing a ithaca lever action(she can out shoot me) and she is only 12! If I seem desprite it's because I havent seen a 49 for a very long time they do not come around offten and when they do you can't get the owner to part with it (can't blame them i would not sell it )so to hell with my pride joncutt87 do you want to sell it Jim was i that obvious? You don't have one by chance DROOL DROOL(am i drooling again?)..............GOOFY
Thanks joncutt87 Look forward to your response.Hey jim looks like a little drooling could be worth it.Show me any old ithaca single barrel trap any # or $ grade and watch me beg(no pride here) Not when it comes to ithacas!. We all have our favorets ithaca is mine(no s...).GOOFY p.s. Jim if you were to see a older H&R still in the box i bet you would need a tissue
I have been known to produce a bit of spittle upon seeing older H&Rs in boxes or like new - I even .... well, let's not get into that!
Good luck, my friend - sometimes begging does help you get your way -

i got an ithaca m49 i found at a pawn shop. love this gun! mine has a chrome receiver, dose this make it worth more?? not that i would ever sell it! lol i was going to reblue the barrel till someone told me that re blueing it would decrease value is this true??
Welcome to TFF xxkillerfearxx!!
The 49 never came out with a "Chrome" Receiver. It sounds like it was painted or it is the bare alum.I need to see pictures to tell.
The 49 does not have any real value except for people that want it
Is it a common 49? If it is not the single shot then it is the 49r that is worth a little more then comes the Presentation, and the ST. Louis Bicentennial they are worth the most.
But if it is a single shot at 100% it is worth $145+-
49r-100% is $265 down to $160 at 60%
Put up some pictures so I can tell you about the receiver.
As for rebluing the barrel if it is NOT original now then doing this will help it's value(depending on how bad it is.)And I am talking HOT blue not cold blue(cold blue sucks).
The receiver is aluminum so this was painted gloss black.
Does it have a gold trigger or hammer?
Mike
