This pistol has serial # j12762 on the right side frame, is a brushed gray finish and has a black plastic contoured grip. The front and rear sites are black. It has a 6 inch barrel. It has a ejection/loading cover on the right side. The cylinder is removed pressing a button and removing a pin from the front of the frame.
This pistol has a very firm feel to it and all the parts seem to fit snug ( for the want of a better word ) it feels almost new, but has been fired very little. It was given to me by a friend when I worked in Atlanta many years ago. Any information on this would be appreciated.

Mr. Goforth is the expert on Iver Johnson's, but his book shows two solid frame guns made for the 38 Special, ( other than the prototype swing out cylinder ), the Rookie and the Bulldog series 1974- 1978/79. However they are listed only in 4 inch barrels, Bill will have the answer.
