Hi, my mother just gave me her mother's revolver. I am wanting to know what year it was made in. The serial number under the left side of the grip is 2539 with no letter prefix. I understand it's black powder pressure and should not be used with modern ammo, I am just curious as to the year of this gun. I have included some pics too.

    Thanks

    Kerrie

IN the shape it is in 80-100 dollars if you are lucky. Where was it kept? I found one under a trailer once that was in the same shape done here in Florida

Funny thing is... I asked my Mom the same thing..LOL I have no idea what happened to it, looks like it was used as a hammer or ran over with something. I don't want to know how much it's worth, just wanted to know around what year it was manufactured.

serial number 2539 is a first model and was made in 1900. one reason it is not in very good condition is it was made during the time when black powder cartridges were almost the only one available. it was used with lots of black powder cartridges and not cleaned often.
