    My pistol has these markings:

    Iver Johnson's Arms & Cycle Works
    Fitchburg, Mass USA
    22 Supershot
    Serial # 6780 on trigger guard
    Holds 8 shells
    Walnut handle
    Original leather case

    Can you tell me what year it was manufactured and it's value?

    there were two models, the "22 supershot" and the "22 sealed eight supershot". the 22 super shot was offered in 7 and 9 shots and the 22 sealed eight supershot was offered only as an 8 shot.

    22 supershot serial number K 6780 (the lletter code found under the grips on the left side of the grip frame) manufactured in 1930, 4,300 manufactured. 22 sealed eight supershot serial number L 6780 manufactured in 1933, 4,500 manufactured.

    only the 22 sealed eight supershot was put back in production after the war.

    22 SUPERSHOT AUTOMATIC (LARGE FRAME)-----------1928-1941
    Features HAMMER the HAMMER ACTION, MODEL 70 (chambered for 7 rounds), MODEL 90 (chambered for 9 rounds); Built on the Safety Automatic Hammer Third Model large frame. Blue finish, 6 inch barrel length, one piece checkered wood grips; .22 rimfire caliber; most specifications same as Safety Automatic Hammer revolver large frame; Weight 24 ounces; Overall length 10 ¾ inches. Barrel marked on left side “22 SUPERSHOT”. Main serial number location on left side of grip frame grips must be removed to see.

    22 SUPERSHOT SEALED EIGHT FIRST MODEL (LARGE FRAME) ---1932-1941
    Features HAMMER THE HAMMER ACTION. This revolver also features a cylinder with recessed chambers that fully enclose the cartridge case head. Large frame top break marked on left side of barrel “22 SUPERSHOT SEALED EIGHT”. Finish: blue only; Barrel length 6 inches: Oversize checkered wood grips; Caliber .22 rimfire with 8 rounds cylinder capacity; Weight 24 ounces. Height with out grips 3 7/8 inches; Frame length 5 inches; Overall length 10 ¾ inches. The 1938 catalog gives this model as well as others Model numbers: Model 88 fixed sights, Model 833 adjustable rear sight, Model 834 adjustable rear sight and adjustable finger rest. . Main serial number location on left side of grip frame grips must be removed to see. First Models will have serial numbers below L26601
