C&P: I am not certain this is true.

MOSCOW - You would think these little gems came out of Japan,
but the inventor of the world's first gasoline-powered boots
is Roman Kunikov, one of the professors at a prominent
Russian engineering institute. The boots incorporate one-foot
pistons that strap along the calf and fire downward after the
wearer steps down, pushing a metal plate away from the bottom
of the shoe - and the wearer up into the air. Tests have
shown that wearers can achieve speeds of up to 25 mph. "A
person can move with significant jumps or strides," said
Kunikov, "there have not been any accidents so far."

Is is just me, or can the rest of you not wait for these
things to hit the market? It's got to beat flubber, right?

I would think you would have a hard time moving your legs fast enough to keep up with the momentum caused by the boots. I could see them possibly working to help you jump or take longer strides, but could your body keep up with the boots...and what happens if you get tired...how do you control the darn things???

Hmm, another question. What happens if you run out of gas in one boot before the other one? Will you just go around in circles?

good question. I wonder where the exhaust is and how hot it gets? I can't believe that 'no one' has been injured yet. No way!!! Just the gasoline alone makes them much more dangerous than roller skates.

Okay, where can I buy a pair!

LOL, I am wondering if you get rubber legged like we used to on the trampoline while your doing 25 MPH down the street how that's gonna feel on your face.

I'll be waiting for an addendum to Bigtires motorcycle thread to include video of these boots soon. :D

They would be idiots to sell these in the USA. If they do, they'd better have good liability insurance.
