Has anyone tried to make the 1911 a polymer ? if so , who and what were the results !
It's called a Glock. Except, it runs better than the 1911, out of the box, doesn't require smithing to tweak it so it shoots. It shoots all kinds of ammo, unlike the 1911, out of the box. Holds more rounds and is lighter, easier to carry, and conceal.
I would beg to differ on that , I had a Glock (hence had ) I still have my 1911 , at any rate , thats not the question at hand , Im wondering if its possible to produce a 1911 in polymer!
Wilson Combat KZ, BUL, and at one time STI made a single stack grip
for the 2011 platform.
Here you go, but IMHO they are all fugly with the Wilson being the least fugly of the
bunch and the Spectre and Kimber in a running for the worst thing done to a 1911!
Alchemy Arms Spectre (the bastage love child of a Glock and a 1911):
Kimber made a Gold Match in polymer. Not sure if they still do.
