I bought a Japanese made 1885 Browning High Wall in 45-70 Govt for a friend. Found it used in excellent condition, with the exception that the original owner had set it up for a scope and the rear barrel sight and especially the "Vernier or ladder style sight" are missing. Easy enough to find a replacement rear barrel sight, but the ladder sight is another matter. An oval cutout, 2 1/4" long by approx 3/4" wide was filled with an epoxy. The epoxy has been cleaned out and I am desparately trying to find a sight to mount for long distance shots. It does not have to be a replica of the exact original, just one that can be used. It should also be detachable from the base, like "Quigley's". He really wants to take this on a hunt, but we need to set it up with this style sight. Would any of you have a suggestion on where to find a sight that'll work? Iv'e tried Dixie, Track of the Wolf and two other sources with no luck. Thanks in advance for any ideas---------John
