Got a call at 1:30am this morning from a little old lady friend of ours in the desert. Our little old man friend, her husband, passed away in bed and she was kind of in a panic. She didn't know what to do. Mrs muley got on her cell phone and called the appropriate folks while I kept talking to her. Then, after the ambulance and other emergency people arrived, we called some friends she also knew to go and take her home with them for the night or stay with her.
She has a grown daughter somewhere but no other kin folk that I know of. Mrs muley and I are packing a few things right now and will be hitting the road in an hour or so for that 1,000 mile trip once again. I told our little old lady friend that we would be on our way down to take care of all the burial arrangements late today or tomorrow. In the meantime, she should try to get in touch with her daughter. If not, I'll try to do that when I get there.
This wasn't a surprise thing because our friend was in failing health and was quite frail. But, it's awfully hard to take anyway........
Be back in a few days....Thanks for listening.

My sincere sympathies in the loss of your friend. There a lot of people who would not make a 1000 mile trip to help someone. God bless you and give you a safe trip.
