Lee mold 90350 230gr TL RN. anybody shoot it?

    I've been casting up a bunch of bullets, w/wheel weights, from this mold and will start testing loads as soon as the weather clears a bit. My plan, is Bullseye 3.8gr, 4.0gr, and 4.2 grns, set at 1.270" col and Unique 5.3gr, 5.5gr and 5.7gr same col. I have several load books and these seem to be on the low to med end of things. I'm looking for a easy shooting target load that will function a basic/milspec 1911 with standard recoil spring.

    Any suggestions from you guys that have been using this bullet.

    Id load the 230s with 5 grains of bullseye and plink away. You are on the low low end.

    I cast the 228 1R (also a lee bullet) and use the same load, except mine are seated a tad deeper than yours. Great performance from my 1911

    5 grains of bullseye will push thiose 230s 850 fps from a 5 inch barrel.. So it will be a standard mil-surp replication and perfect for a mil-spec 1911
