I recently picked up an M-1 Carbine bayonet at an antique mall for $28.00.
It caught my eye because of the grip!
It seems to be a deep brown plastic grip with two screws similar to the screws on a k-98k bayonet.
There are no markings on the bayonet except right under the ring that slides onto the barrel.
The mark is on the grip side- it looks like a capital H with a vertical line going through the center of it.
I looked at this mark through a magnifying glass, and I can't tell if it is that, or some kind of Chinese or Japanese characters.
The sheaf is like the wooden ones from WWII, with the original leather strap.
Is it the transitional one or a Japanese or Korean one; it is nice!
The sheath confuses me, but I think it is original because the rubbings on the bayonet line up perfectly with the sheath.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks
