Looks good, 25yret! I think the M1 Carbine is a great gun, someone should make a .22 based on an M1, or aftermarket stock and forend for a 10/22, like an even-smaller Mini 14, I see too many .22s based off ARs.

If you have lived with it long enough it just gets comfortable

Wikipedia says the maximum combat-effective range for the SKS is 550 yards. Never understood was effective range is, I'm assuming it's lethality to humans out to a certain point?

hit a patch near Siem riep in cambodia , the KR all had SKS's , crossing the road a bit up from them was awful hairy that was 800 meters out , , so i'd say stretch the 550 a bit ... you dont wanna be in front of these at almost any real range under 3-4 miles

but for pigs good out to 600 meters all day long

Just an FYI--None of the Yugo's were manufactured with a chrome bore. Great weapons, but you need to know this.

I had a select fire M1 carbine as a deputy and it was far better than any M4....way more knock down power and a lot more controlable.

I was in The Expeditionary Forces in Vietnam and we used the M-1 Garrand. Even with it's weight that was an exceptional shooting instrument. Their range and punch was exceptional.

The only draw back was inserting a new clip. I had buddies that were wounded and trying to open the breech and inserting a new mag and had difficulty. But, when the newer M- series models came out they were a real blessing.

    Love the pictures. Thanks.
