    Question for you folks,

I have a 1917 enfield and some M2 ball ammo that I have been keeping around. I was thinking the sights on the 17 are pobably not regulated for this round. I am thinking that in 1918 the ballistics, veolcity was lower and bullets were heavier? So what was being shot in 1918 by the US army? What bullet and what velocity.

    Thanks,
    Kirk

You might wish to go to the ".30-06 Springfield" article in Wikipedia on line. It should answer all of the questions that you posed, and much more.

    Thank you sir!

I would not have thought to have gone there for this. I will have to remember this in the future. Thanks.

Wiki is good but always remember that it's an open source meaning anyone can post there and all the information you will find is not necessarily 100% accurate. But good nonetheless-- if it's important, verify somewhere else.
