I had such hopes for that, Jerryboy. When they sang the first verse, the way it was supposed to be. Then at the end of the second verse, there it came "La-and of the freee EEEEEEEE (some frustrated soloist jumped an entire octave there)" .

While I don't normally care for those that embellish our National Anthem, I thought this was pretty good.

That octave jumping is like finger nails on a chalkboard in my opinion.

I like the original and I like their version, It's a good rock and roll version.

There's nothing wrong with the original version. (They are trying to reach their demographic audience, probably not trying to convert us old farts) I like operatic versions, instrumental versions etc. There is one that we all can like.....but we don't have to just have vanilla ice cream do we? Can't we have different flavors?? :D

Some young people are also patriotic and express it musically. I think these guys did a great job and since they are right wingers, I like it even more.

Five years ago, on 'Opening day' at my Baseball park.
My assistant coach sang the National Anthem. He did
it 'a cappella'. He knew all the words, never missed
a note, on key, no extra syllables, and had tears in his
eyes when he finished. The Best I ever heard.

I pretty much like to hear it done by anyone with passion and patriotism for the USA. Hell, I loved Hendrix's solo at Woodstock! Everyone except Roseanne Barr.Bitch ruined it on purpose!
