    I checked the DOM and it was made in 1961. It has a 20" bbl and is in very good condition with no rust and only a small amount of blue wear on the hammer and lever. The original front sight hood and swivels are present. The wood is in very good condition with no cracks and minor dings from handling and shooting for 40+ years.[IMG]

    Hi grdad.....welcome to TFF! :)

    Pretty, pretty, pretty. Those 39s have gotta be about the sweetest shootin' .22s out there.

    I presume you're looking for the value, so here's what the Blue Book says about the 39A Mountie:

    98% - $400
    95% - $350
    90% - $300
    80% - $250

    Thanks for the reply. That is about what I thought the value might be.

    This 39a Mountie looks like the stock and forearm have been varnished. I have one just likeit. I purchased new in 1961., The stock and forearm are a dull walnut finish and it is original. My rifle has been shot very little, it is sitting in my closet, but I would never think of gettig rid of it as it is the first firearm I purchased. It will go to my grandson when I die. He and I sure love this little gun.

    The 14th Edition of Modern Gun Values is not so generous as to value:

    Exc = $315
    VG = 285
    Good = 255

    The 2008 Standard Catalog of Firearms is even a little lower.
