Any pro's or con's on the Marlin XT-VR .22 cal. I've been looking at this model for a while now, generally just for casual cheap target shooting. How does the the Marlin trigger compare to the Savage Accutrigger. Outside of the synthetic stock (though I would probably install a Boyds TH), it seems to be an OK rimfire.

Any and all comments are welcome.....

To be blunt, its a 900-series with a scaled-down version of the X-7 series adjustable target trigger.
That's it...nothing really changed except the trigger & the new stock...which is better than the 900-series synthetic.

I've heard rumours that the stock is supposed to be bedded from the factory...but have yet to take one apart to find out.

And yeah, Boyd's does make a fine stock :D

Come to think of it, nothing except trigger & stock changes differ from the original 25N...lol
A gunsmith can simply install an XT trigger onto an older 25N/825/880/925/980/etc...
same applies to the .22WMR & .17 versions...

Now that's interesting. I might get my 925 going the way I want it after all. My XT22TR shoots considerably more accurate and the trigger is a big reason. I may look into getting one for the 925. You don't happen to know what one costs do you Shrek?

925M? Depends on the condition...LNIB's are drawing around $200-250, less depending in wear.

Actually it was the price of the trigger I was interested in friend. I already have the rifle.
