you should be able to get mags at a good gun shop if not go ahead and order them.you have mentioned ammo that would be most accurate.i would buy as many boxes of different brands that you can find and see what is more accurate and which is more dependable.22s are just like high power rifles, they like a certain diet to preform and you have to find it. old semperfi

The post above ^^^ is a great place to start :)

This one ain't bad either ;)
    http://www.gunandgame.com/forums/22-rimfire/87522-marlin-fte-repair.html

I'd have to say most Marlin jams are caused by one of a few things...

Improper cleaning & leaving gunk in the extractor slots. (If I had a nickel...)
Ejector Wire in wrong position. (Another If I had a Nickel...)
Rusty/dirty bolt & lack of cleaning.
Replace buffer & recoil spring every 15-20 years.
Remington Golden Bullsquish ammo or Thunderduds. Worst ammo EVER.

Look, it's a PRECISION instrument, CLEAN IT like an AR-15/M-16.
The action is to be cleaned after EVERY range visit/shooting session.
POLISH the BOLT to a high shine & keep it that way.
POLISH the feed lips the same as the bolt.
Be sparing with the oil...one drop applied all over the action is enough. Then one drop for the bolt & interior of the action housing.

    Problem solved.
