    It's a Crescent

Mississippi Valley Arms is a trade name that was used by Crescent Arms, manufacturer of utility grade shotguns. They put many different names on their product.

Some models of the Mississippi Valley Arms shotguns were made by Crescent Arms of Norwich, Ct. for the Shapleigh Hdw. Co. of St. Louis, MO. Others were probably made in Belgium and imported by Shapleigh.

Crescent was the largest U.S. maker of "Hardware Store Guns". Many large hardware store, gun store, wholesale gun distributors, and catalog houses had Crescent make shotguns with various "store brand" names for them.

Check the watertable of the shotgun.....if it has proofmarks, it was probably made in Belgium. If no proofmarks, it was made by Crescent.

Current value in the condition you state.....$0.00
