  2. how about the helo that landed one day with a whole BUNCH of generals in it....

the pic of the guys getting ready to go into town (DC)... look at the guy on the left (smoking)... he is the same Zonite that served in Panama (his home) and then in VN with me....

I am trying to locate his name on my records ..... he was at Phu Bai with me and when I went to the 101st... I think he was sent to the 82nd.... but he wasn't ABN qualified.....at least... at the time on this picture.

matter of fact, I think Thompson (the guy with the towel) is also in the Phu Bai card game too!!

Some great oldies there Mith ....

What is the model number of that helo .... ???

I believe that those types were quite popular in Korea era if I am not mistaken. I was just a young-un then ...

  4. yeah... its a Korean vintage alright....

    but I don't know the designation....or number

I do know that they were called "Mules" and were considered the father of the Chinooks, just as the "whirlibirds" were the fathers of the Hueys.....

Can surely see why they are considered the daddy of the Chinook for sure ... :)

Have you ever ridden in one and if so what was the ride like?

I was the post photographer for almost two years before they kicked me out, and back to civilian like with a pension. I have some pretty good pix of the, is there a place to place them here?
