    The Gun Owners Action League has sent out e mails asking members to contact Romney as he refuses to return their survey on his position on guns.
    I sent an e mail to his campaign headquarters and have yet to get a reply.
    Makes me think he is not one of us.

    Newt is pro-gun, and so is Santorum. I am wary of Newt.

    *** Newt supports the Brady National Gun Registry -- He stubbornly continues to support the anti-gun Brady Bill, which created a national gun registry;
    *** Newt supports a national biometric thumbprint database for gun purchasers-- He thinks you should be forced to undergo fingerprinting before you are allowed to purchase a firearm;
    *** Newt supports the Lautenberg Gun Ban -- He voted to strip law-abiding gun owners of their 2nd Amendment rights for life, simply because they spanked their children or did nothing more than grab the wrist of a spouse;
    *** Newt supports the “Criminal Safezones Act” -- He stood shoulder to shoulder with Nancy Pelosi to turn every school in America into a “criminal safe-zone,” where law-abiding adults are disarmed and defenseless while gun-toting thugs are free to commit horrific atrocities like the Columbine Massacre.

    If a candidate wants my vote they MUST go through the second amendment to get it. I am unwavering and unconditional with this. Neither of these two will ever get my vote.
    If either is the nominee I will vote for a pro- second amendment third party.

    tcon67, thanks for that link. I didn't know that Newt was anti gun. Where did you find your information? Santorum is progun. So far, he is the only one I can consider.

    Iron eagle, I just googled "Newt's gun control views" and got several links. The info I posted above is copied and pasted directly from one of those sights. Also I have read interview manuscripts from the past where Newt specifically mentioned favoring banning "miltary type" weapons. He said in the interview that he would be worried if he knew his neighbor owned a .50 cal. machine gun.
    I think that is very telling of what convictions he really has. I know I'm 100% pro gun and I would sleep a lot better if I knew ALL my neighbors had .50 cal. machine guns. I would gladly vote for either Paul or Santorum, but my support favors Santorum because I think he has the best chance of getting the nomination of the two.
