I have a model 94 in 30-30, 20 inch barrel. wood is nearly perfect, about 70% original blue, but some rusty spots, minor pitting in the barrel. will post pics when I get back to my house. I found it buried in my dad's junk outside, it belonged to my grandad and I though it was long gone.
serial number is 157XXXX. Is there a sight that I can track down the year it was made or does anyone have access to the information? looking for an approximate value. I realize its tough to tell without pics, just looking for approximations.

The way you describe it I would guess 300 to 400 bucks.

Well I looked at one at a farm auction that went for over 700 dollars was really beat to hell, by the number was a 59 model so from what you are describing I would at least put it in that range.

With all due respect I disagree. That farm auction price was in my opinion an exception to values and not the rule. Pre 1964 but post World War two model 94's normally do not bring that kind of money unless like new. All one has to do is go to one of the popular gun auction sites and see what the bids are. I believe if you do that you will see my $300 to $400 is right in there.

$250-$350 around here. A six digit serial number or very good condition bring the prices up considerably. Rifles like the one described are everywhere, and not in high demand.

After seeing the pictures I stand corrected believing that cakes estimate of about $250.00 is all the money for the gun.
