    Hey all

Just to let ya'll know, I will post some more targets on thursday.
I finally got a day off when I can stay home and shoot to my hearts content. I plan on shooting all my .22's . I hope i can still hit something with open sights @ 50 yds.

I have a question about bench shooting. Are the incredible groups i'm seeing shot using a vice or just sandbagged? I normaly just shoot prone using a bipod out of the back of my suburban. Maybe i need to build a bench up on the range.

    hah

I used a 2x8 to sit on the dirt, an old stump with an upside down cardboard box in the sandpit out in the woods (it's a trek, it'd be tough to get a table out there) on top of it for my groups.

Go to the wood dump and grab some plywood and a few 2x4s, hinges from hardware store if you like collapsable (for your Suburban) and make somethin up. I'm going to, then try out another plot of property where I can get a place set up.

Hey I'm doin aight for sittin in the dirt, right!

I put some lawn mower wheels on one end of my table so its easier to move to different ranges. Or across the field to a different place. Kinda heavy and hard to load in my truck by myself.

Mine are sandbags off the bench, unless shooting a centerfire pistol.

Where rifles are not usually a problem, make sure when shooting a 22 pistol that the end of the muzzle is not resting on the middle of the sandbags. You don't want to get up and see a big black stain on the sandbag, and a hole with sand blown all over the table. It could affect your accuracy too. NOT that this has EVER happened to me, mind you. ;)

I've never owned a "front rest" other than sandbags. My wife sewed the ones I use now, and I filled them with small plastic pellets from the craft store.

    And #2

    And another

Ruger 10/22 prone off bipod. 50 yds.

The first 2 fliers are the first shot of the group. Keep forgetting the light trigger. But it got better. These are all 10 shot groups.

    Number 3

    Here is #3

It is an open sight model 61 winchester pump. I inherited it from my grandfather. I put it up a few years ago. First one is prone off of sand bags @ 50 yds. That target isn't much more than a blur, so I just set the post on the whole target and hoped for the best.
    NTB if I say so.

And the last of the bunch.

It got to hot and buggy to get them all but will try later. This is standing @ 25 yds. I didn't even want to try it @ 50. This gun has always done well by me. Of all the positions standing is my least favorite. Might like it more if I did it more though.

I will soon get the hundred yrd targets shot , but I think I am going to upgrade my scope to a 4x12 or larger with an A.O.
Might go get it today, I need to go to town anyway.
