In order to tell you what you need to know before buying, I should talk to you on the phone. If you will email me, I will call tomorrow.

    IMPO,
While loading the mag and you feel that resistance ...stop
Take the mag and firmly tap the heel of the mag against the palm of your other hand (or hip).
I think the bullets are not stacking properly , while being compressed into the mag , and a couple are getting all cockeye'd in there , so a good tap will shake them into alinement.
    Then continue loading

There isn't room for them to get sideways. The spring is very stiff.

I have friends with the Mossberg. It is economical. Not very good reviews from those I know who own it. Of course, maybe they think they bought a .556. Ammo consistency is also a factor. Upper end velocity and a good bullet coating make all the difference. I am partial to the Colt. But even with the Colt high velocity and copper coat are highly recommended for best performance. Actually, that is with any .22 semi auto. And you can always get a lemon regardless of the manufacturer. Colts and HK imitations both made by very sound company but for a few more dollars. Depends on what your expectations are.
