mossberg 400 barrel

    How do you take off the barrel? is it screwed or pressed on?

    I don't know, and the exploded views of the rifle show the barrel connected to the receiver. I own one myself but I can't tell by looking. Most Mossbergs are press fit but that doesn't mean anything.

    If I had to guess, I would go with threaded since the receiver is aluminum.

    I do know of a way to find out for sure how it is removed if you don't get an answer here.

    Thanks GunHugger! This is a prodject gun I am restoreing it well beyond its worth. But what can I say except It is a mossberg 400.I want to hot blue the barrel in my next hot blue run and do not want to twist, heat or test the barrel intill i know how the mgn. put it together. I will take your advice and contact havlin. Thanks again!
