I just bought a very nice Mossberg 46M(B) today for $150 with tax.
the most important question to me is #1

    1. the front sight lolly pop moves. 4 piece type. how do you tighten it?

    2. the tube spring hangs out about 4 inches should it do that?

    3. the receiver is tapped for what looks to be 4 weaver type holes, but also has to spots that where filled and filed down is that the original mossberg scope mounts holes?

i bought the gun for a sweet bolt action rifle to refine my skills, not so much for historical reasons but that makes it all the better.

    thanks,

    Ryan:confused:

    one more question
the rear sight looks like it has a total of 3 different apertures. is this really right?
    peep, V and square.

    Thanks,

Should be the Mossberg S-107 rear sight, which did have three apertures.

This is the S-101 front sight:

The blades can get loose with wear. On sights that are otherwise hopelessly loose we have made shims out of very small e-clips.

On the R220 inner magazine tube, the spring and follower do extend outside of the brass tube.

The holes you describe are not factory.

    well thank you very much!
sorry about the delay, busy week.

I figured as much for the front sights so i used a nylon spacer and seems to hold the front sight steady.
my front sight looks different and has a hood. it does not have a screw in the front.

i will have to look at the tube but it functions fine when i load it up.

    Thanks,

    Ryan
