I hope this is the right place to put this if not please move it mods. I have been wanting a good 22lr for a while now and came across the Mossberg 702 plinkster. Walmart carries them for $112 plus tax, which fits perfectly into my budget which is kind of tight. My needs are simple, I needed a .22 that was accurate enough to kill squirrels and rabbits at 75 yards. This gun exceeds that need very well. I get 1.5" groups at 100 yards. The gun is light but sturdy with a black plastic stock and blued 18" free floated barrel. The factory sights were good and worked great for plinking out to 50 yards but I wanted a little more. So I bought a Tasco 1-7x20mm scope and put on it. The scope is just right for the rifle in my opinion. So far I have run nearly 600 rounds of various kinds through it with only one FTF which turned out to be just a bad round (tried it in another little rossi .22). No jams or other issues, it just eats everything. It shoots best with the CCI Mini Mag 36 gr hollowpoints. This gun is proving devastating to varmints already. It destroys squirrels and blackbirds with one shot kills every time. And even proved itself wit an 80 yard groundhog kill the other day. All in all a great .22 at a great price. Will post pics when I get them on my computer.
