Well if you dont mind a semi-auto the Remington 597 is absolutely amazing. Extremely accurate doesnt seem to jam. and is a really solid good sized .22lr by far my favorite .22

Yes but will your Rem Speed Master shoot 1.5 inch groups at 150 yds like a CZ?

Boyd's runs periodic specials on Model 60 Stocks...Instead of making them all the time, it's about every three months, they do a run of about 500 stocks...and they usually sell out within a few days.

I think they just like to bump their quarterly numbers by doing the Marlin Specials...but I'll post up next time they do it.

As far as the Marlin Trigger goes...there is a VERY simple tweak. Simply drill & tap a 6/32" setscrew in the head of the trigger, which does two things...gives a precise mating surface and makes the trigger adjustable.

If you look carefully, that screw head is a allen-type, but they also come as phillips.

    I agree, that's why I snagged a 1913 Marlin Model 37 at a yard sale a couple months ago :D

Hands down any Savage or Cz would be an excellent choice. If you can, handle different models and buy the one that "feels right" to you.
