This was e-mailed to me. By one of the dates, it is 3 years old, but still interesting.

One of our newest planes on a carrier: Check out the pilot....(4th photo down..

The plane in these pictures is still officially the "Air
Vehicle Number 1," a prototype, on board the USS George
Washington CVN-73 for catapult fit checks. Not exactly still
Top Secret but certainly not yet made publ ic.

It will be known as the F/A-37. Although specs are classified, it is believed to be Mach 3.5 (top speed in the Mach 4 range) super-cruise stealth fighter/bomber/interceptor with approximately a 4,000nm range. Awesome!

Check out the Navy test pilot in the cockpit of the F/A-37...LT Kara Wade

    Part 2

For the first time in over 20 some odd years, three carrier strike groups got together in formation for a great photo op.

From top to bottom are the aircraft carriers, ABRAHAM LINCOLN, KITTY HAWK, and RONALD REAGAN.

We even had Air Force planes fly-over, see the B-2 Stealt h Bomber in the fifth & sevent h picture down. The only warships not seen in the photos are the 4 nuclear powered submarines st anding guard. WOW!

And people b***h about the cost of Air Force One doing a photo op over NYC! Sheesh! Three carriers and their escorts! What do you recon that costs per second?

Don't believe everything that you see on the internet or in an e-mail.

Uhh...Thoses are photos from a movie. Notice Jessica Biel (of 7th heaven fame) as the pilot.

The name of the movie was "Stealth". It was a great flying movie with a bunch of rockin' music.:)

Come to think of it, they don't make Lieutenants test pilots. Test pilot comes near the end of a distinguished flying career, not at the beginning. Are there any living female carrier pilots? I know of at least one who got herself killed because she wasn't up to the task.

I read a single carrier costs about $50,000 an hour to operate. I will let someone else do the estimate for three battle groups!!!
